Deloras Jones photographed Lupine in bloom at The Sea Ranch. It's a happy sight, don't you agree?

The wildflowers are pretty amazing this spring. Thanks to Deloras for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Today couldn't be lovelier - sunny with a nice breeze. And spring doesn't know...

Adrian Bennett and Roxanne Holmes were treated to the sight of these cute, newborn twin fawns last week.

It's so wonderful to see new life. Thanks to Roxanne for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Roxanne took this photo on a sunny day. We had rain this morning, over a 1/2 inch! This afternoon the sun has come out. The Douglas fir trees are trimmed in light green - their new growth is glistening with the raindrops.

Spring doesn't know...

The northwest wind is howling this afternoon and it's quite biting outside! I don't mind this wind because I know it brings with it upwelling in the Pacific Ocean. This is when the surface waters are replaced by cold, nutrient-rich waters from below. Upwelling ignites the whole food chain, an amazing phenomenon that takes place right here, off the Point Arena Peninsula.

Jinx McCombs had a sighting of a beautiful Bobcat at her home near Point Arena.

She said this Bobcat stayed in this position for over a half hour. Perhaps he/she was enjoying the sun and flowers. This Bobcat has some amazing spots. Fun Fact: The marking of each Bobcat is unique to itself, like our fingerprints are unique to each of us.

Thanks to Jinx for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Sunny, windy, upwelling happening...and Spring doesn't know.

It was a stunning day yesterday when Bill Oxford went out to do some videoing. The sunset was stellar too. This was taken at The Sea Ranch.

Bill wrote, "Initially, I was just doing a location-scout with my iPhone and planned to return with my video equipment the next day, but was happy with the footage I got. My purpose was to share on Facebook to encourage people to get outside and let nature re-ground them. The Covid 19 global pandemic is very stressful. Hopefully, this video will help relieve some of that stress and get minds off of the virus for awhile."

The storm that was forecast apparently went to the south of us. So we were gifted with another sunny, warm day. Spring doesn't know...

After listening to the news early Monday morning, my heart was heavy. I went over to the spotting scope that is trained on an Osprey nest. I was so happy to see the mated pair of Ospreys had returned. Since Monday, they have been diligently rebuilding the reinforcing the nest. Today, while taking a walk on our property, the sounds of Osprey calls filled the air. There were four Ospreys wheeling in the air, a delightful way to start the first day of Spring.

Yes, these photos are not as good as I usually post, right? Because I took them! Here's a close-up of an Osprey, taken by photographer Paul Brewer in a previous year.

I find comfort that the Ospreys have returned to the Mendonoma Coast where they find tall trees for their nests, and abundant fish to feed themselves and their future chicks. Thanks to Paul for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

You can see from my two photos that today is sunny. It's also warmer, 62 degrees this afternoon.
