Kenny Jowers took this photo of a rainbow on  his ranch. He entitled it "Hope between storms."

It's a beautiful scene with the horses, the rainbow, and the lush grass.

Thanks to Kenny for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Catherine Miller found this big tooth recently. She wondered which animal it came from.

Ken Bailey took a look at this photo and he believes it is the tooth of either a CA Sea Lion or a Harbor Seal. It's a pretty fun find!

Thanks to Catherine for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

There have been multiple sightings of several Red-shouldered Hawks recently. Richard Zweig photographed one perched on top of a bush.

These medium-size hawks prey on rodents, frogs and snakes. Perhaps Richard found this hawk listening for its next meal. They have a whistling call, which you can listen to here: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-shouldered_Hawk/sounds

We are having another sunny day, but there is rain coming in a few days!

Randy Jones was walking a local beach when he noticed this bit of an abalone shell in the shape of a heart.

Randy showed it to Mel Smith and me recently, and Mel took this photo on the shell resting on Randy's hand. I love seeing hearts in nature.

Thanks to Mel for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Sparkling blue skies and cool weather here on the Mendonoma coast today.

Craig Tooley was out looking for waterfalls. This is what he found just north of Greencove at The Sea Ranch. Quite a beautiful sight seen at low tide.

This time of year, the cloud show is just fantastic, as you can see in Craig's photo. Today we had early showers, followed by rainbows. That's a nice way to start your day!
