Klaus Doebler and Kirsten Lenzing of Germany are visiting the Mendonoma coast. And they have timed their visit between storms, when the coast shows of its immense beauty. Klaus noticed this young Buck in the forest near where they were staying.
It's a serene moment, one that can touch your senses.

Paul Brewer photographed a recent sunrise and sunset at Jenner. Jenner is where the Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean.
Jenner is also where a pair of Bald Eagles has been spotted for the past several years. We think there is an active nest, as a juvenile was seen there too.

Tom Eckles looked out his window in Gualala and he saw this beautiful Peregrine Falcon in the distance.

It's cold and clear on the Mendonoma coast today. We have to bundle up today!

Since midnight we have 4.75 inches of rain in our gauge. That's a lotta rain a little more than 12 hours! Creeks and rivers are running fast, dangerous, and muddy. When this storm passes on, the Mendonoma coast will be waiting to fill you with awe at its beauty. Waterfalls will be plentiful. Craig Tooley photographed these two waterfalls after last week's rains.
Amy Ruegg paid a visit to Stengel Beach, a public access trail on The Sea Ranch, late Saturday afternoon. This is what she found.
I can only imagine what this looks like today after nearly five inches of rain!
The weekend looks sunny and dry, if cold. Perfect weather for bundling up and exploring all that the Mendonoma coast has to offer!
