A delicious edible, Chanterelles are a treat to find. We have warm, sunny weather for the next week. Hopefully many more edible mushrooms will appear.

While we "ooh and aah" over the two mature Bald Eagles seen at the mouth of the Gualala River nearly every day, there are other birds to admire. Andi Kahn recently photographed a Black Phoebe.
Black Phoebes make short flights to catch their favorite food - insects. They have a high-pitched call, which you can listen to here: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Black_Phoebe/sounds

Nik Epanchin photographed some of the beautiful waves we got as the last storm approached the Mendonoma coast.
When the waves are this huge, the sound of them crashing against sand or bluffs resonates all the way to the ridge, over a mile away.
Today we have mixed clouds and sun, but it is cold - cold for us, I should say. 51 degrees was the high temperature. I know, we are cold-weather wimps. I should let you know that the temperatures are forecast to rise, and by Sunday it could be close to 70 degrees! Mushrooms will be popping.

A wild and wet storm arrived yesterday [we got over two inches of rain], and the unsettled weather behind it has brought downpours, a little hail, mixed with brilliant sunshine today. A wait-five-minutes kind of day!

After today's showers, the weather is suppose to be sunny and warmer through the weekend. Time for a trip to the Mendonoma coast? It should be beautiful.
