Roxanne Holmes wrote, "Somebody got a lovely 33rd birthday gift. I love it that people are willing to put such work into a piece of art that will be erased by the next tide."

"What a lovely birthday gift. The memory will last longer than any other, more traditional, present."

Roxanne found this artwork on Shell Beach at The Sea Ranch.

Thanks to Roxanne for allowing me to share her photos with you here.

The fog is pretty darn persistent today, but it's a high fog and quite mild. No wind!

It's a lovely plant with a pretty tough common name,  Swamp Harebell. It's quite rare, growing in wetlands. Margaret Lindgren found a nice patch of them at her home in the Redwoods at The Sea Ranch.

I'm told the flowers are quite small - I have never seen one...yet! A summer bloomer, as you can see, though it can also bloom in early autumn. Its scientific name is Campanula californica. This native wildflower is endemic to the Mendocino, Sonoma and Marin coasts.

Thanks to Margaret for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Sunny and hot today away from the ocean. Looks like it's foggy to our north at the ocean's edge. Microclimates - the Mendonoma coast specializes in them!

Cloud watching is a Mendonoma Coast tradition. Tricia Schuster captured this beautiful sight over The Sea Ranch.

These are clouds to dream under!

Thanks to Tricia for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Nothing but blue skies today, but lots of wind!

Spring, nearly over, doesn't know...

Paul Kozal is an amazing photographer. He enjoys photographing the night sky and recently took this photo of the Milky Way, shining bright over Black Point Beach on The Sea Ranch.

The flowers in the foreground are non-native ice plant. They are quite beautiful in bloom in the spring and summer.

Thanks to Paul for allowing me to share his beautiful photo with you here. To see much more of Paul's nature photography, here is the link to his website: http://www.paulkozal.com/

Sunny and warm today, with breezes to keep it from being too warm!

Spring doesn't know...

Roland Coombs was taking a walk on The Sea Ranch when he saw a family of Gray Foxes.

Look at the kit closest to the mother - the little one is trying to nurse! Roland advises people to always take a camera when you take a walk. Good advice, which I always take.

Thanks to Roland for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Another very warm day on the Mendonoma Coast! But there's a hint of coolness in the gentle breeze, just a hint.

Spring doesn't know...
