Here’s a beautiful time lapse photograph of a Brown Pelican with several Gulls nearby, taken by the talented Phil Lewenthal.

I love how Phil’s photo slows down the waves…just amazing. And the Brown Pelican stayed still for the photo.

Thanks to Phil for allowing me to share his photo with you.

It was a spectacular day on the Mendonoma Coast today!

Phil Lewenthal photographed the multitudes of Brown Pelicans off Galleon's Reach.

And Barbara Johannes photographed a group resting on an offshore rock

Paul Brewer gets the prize for the most Brown Pelicans in a photo with this snapshot from the mouth of the Gualala River.

Many of us love these prehistoric-looking birds. To see them glide by, using the wind currents, makes our heart sing.

Thanks to Phil, Barbara and Paul for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

It's sunny and breezy today - lots of whitecaps on the ocean this afternoon.

Phil Lewenthal was lucky these two Harbor Seals - a mother with her pup - did not move during the time Phil needed to take this lovely photo.

Phil's photo looks almost like a dream...a dream come true. Thanks to Phil for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

ah, there is a sun, and it returned today! Temps are up too, just barely to 70 degrees.

In December of 2022, Phil Lewenthal photographed theses offshore rocks, showing a triangle-shaped rock wedged in an opening on  the upper right.

After the big storms last month, Phil found this sight. Another rock was deposited on top of the hanging rock seen last year!

Those had to be huge waves to be able to carry another rock and deposit it up there. Amazing!

Thanks to Phil for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

It's terribly windy here today. There has been some scattered rain and our lovely spring-like temperatures are a thing of the past. It's about 20 degrees cooler today. This morning there were rainbows, which is always a treat. Rain is in our forecast with cooler than normal temps. There is a possibility of snow, something that is very rare on the Mendonoma Coast.

Phil Lewenthal noticed this triangular-shaped rock was wedged tightly in this offshore rocky island, situated off The Sea Ranch. I wonder if this happened in the big storm we had in late September or if it's been there for a while. Phil wonders what stories this rock could tell...

Thanks to Phil for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

It's cloudy and in the low 50's as rain is predicted. I loved hearing on the news this morning that the fire season was officially closed. Hooray for the rain!
