Lloyd Chasey set out from the Point Arena Harbor in his 13-foot kayak a week ago Tuesday with his fishing gear. Oh my, was he successful! Kathleen Chasey wrote, “Lloyd caught this 25-pound Salmon from his kayak. In kayak fisherman speak it’s called a ‘hawg.’”

That's a big fish to get from a kayak! Congratulations to Lloyd and thanks to Kathleen for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

The fog has vanished and we have nothing but blue skies! Heatwave inland and toasty weather here for the weekend.

Lloyd Chasey kayaked from Anchor Bay Beach on a calm day recently. Here's what he said, “I had been waiting for a calm day on the ocean and had a chance on Thursday. I was just off Fish Rocks with the Loons flying overhead on the migration, and the Murres nesting on Fish Rocks. It was great to be out on the water.” What Lloyd didn't mention were the two beautiful Ling Cod he caught from his kayak.

Lloyd looks pretty darn happy, don't you think?

Thanks to Lloyd for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Lloyd and Kathleen Chasey found several early blooming Coast Lilies, Lilium maritimim.

These rare members of the Lily family are found where the ground is moist. There are several plants on a neighbor's land, where her spring box is, and they have not bloomed yet. I always look forward to seeing them.

Thanks to Lloyd for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Yes, we are having a rainbow day, plus rain, hail, cold and wind. It's a wait-five-minutes kind of day, as the weather changes from sunny skies to dark clouds before you know it.

Lloyd Chasey captured this beautiful double rainbow from his home north of Gualala. What a great way to start his day...or to make a wish!

Thanks to Lloyd for allowing me to share his photo with  you here.
