She calls this a "two sunset day," as the sun is reflected in the shallow water on the beach. Just lovely!

Roxanne Holmes wrote, “This Doe left her two Fawns ON OUR FRONT PORCH!! The Fawns made a distinctive, loud, high-pitched squeal when they saw us, and the Doe came running to them.” After the little ones rushed over to their mother, Roxanne photographed one of the Fawns nursing.
A Doe will stash her Fawns in what she believes are safe places while she wanders off to eat, so don’t be concerned if you see a fawn by itself for a while. And this is the time of year to be especially careful when driving. If you see a Doe cross the road, wait a minute to see if a fawn, or two, or even three might be following behind.

It's always fun to see whale spouts on the ocean. John Crowell saw three spouts from the bluffs at The Sea Ranch, most likely Gray Whales.
The first mother/calf pairs of Gray Whales are slowly passing by our coast, swimming about three miles per hour. Many, many more to come in the weeks ahead, as there are a lot of calves still in the lagoons of Baja California.

I had heard there was a seasonal waterfall at our new public access spot, Pelican Bluffs. Steve Coffey-Smith photographed it several weeks ago.
I know, it's not the most dramatic waterfall, but still it's nice to know one is there. Wildflowers are abundant at Pelican Bluff and this is a great time to explore this beautiful place.
