Ken Bailey caught this action near the Gualala River. The bird on the left is an adult Peregrine Falcon and the bird on the right is a juvenile. Perhaps the adult is teaching the younger bird some important lesson.

We had two nests of Peregrine Falcons successfully breed here this year. Here's a photo taken by Michael Beattie of the two chicks in a nest off the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands.

Lucy Payne found this mushroom that she said looked like a daisy. It's an Earthstar, a member of the Puffball family.

I found my first Candy Cap a few days ago, the first of many, I hope. It's a delicious edible with a maple flavor.

Mel Smith took visiting family members to the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands. He hoped to be able to show them the waterfall, but it is still falling into a crack in the bluff. Nonetheless, this spot is perfect for a photo with the Lighthouse in the distance.

Perhaps with all the rain in our forecast the waterfall will again cascade off the bluff. This is what it looks like when it does - beautiful, don't you think? I took this photo a few years ago.

A Supermoon occurs when the moon is in its nearest approach to Earth. We didn't have much chance to observe it for long as weather soon moved in. Yes, it's been raining on the Mendonoma Coast. Today, though, is sunny after earlier rain. Perfect conditions for more mushrooms!
