Can you imagine experiencing this? Peter Forte was kayaking down the Gualala River when he slid past an adult Bald Eagle feasting on a bird.

Harm Wilkinson saw perhaps the same Bald Eagle at the Gualala River.

Thanks to Nicole Forte who told me about her son's video and sent it to me. Thanks to Peter for allowing me to share his video, and thanks to Harm for allowing me to share his photo.

Cloudy, with a few showers this morning. Another storm coming in early tomorrow!

Mike Nelson is a talented drone pilot. He photographed the raging, muddy Gualala River after the recent big storm.

Here is a link to Friends of Gualala River, where a longer version is shared. Mike photographed some of the beautiful waves off of the river. I think you will really enjoy watching it.

Here is a photo of the flooded Gualala River that I took two years ago to give you an idea what the river can look like after a great deal of rain. I photographed the river from Gualala Point Regional Park on a very stormy day.

Thanks to Mike for allowing me to share his video with you here, and for allowing FoGR to share his longer version. Mike is the owner of MD Electric and Solar here in Gualala, https://www.mdelectricsolar.com/

We are waiting for the next couple of storms. One is to arrive tonight, and another one tomorrow, Sunday, and into Monday.

This is what Ron Bolander wrote about his photo: “The Mr. and Mrs. Bald Eagle were photographed last Monday. Like all married couples, it appears that they are not speaking to each other.”

Not all married couples, Ron!

Thanks to Ron for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

We had a VERY vigorous storm come through late yesterday. Heavy rain, wind, even some thunder and lightning. 2.90 inches in our rain gauge, but my sister in Point Arena got nearly 3 and 1/2 inches. Usually Point Arena's rainfall total is significantly below ours in Anchor Bay. 17.25 inches season to date. And more on the way! Today is a "wait five minutes" kind of day - sunshine, showers, sunshine...

Sara Bogard was charmed by this sight - a group of Killdeer in the new labyrinth installed on the grounds of the Point Arena Lighthouse.

Killdeer are graceful plovers, and they are shorebirds that often can be found away from the shore. I always enjoy seeing these beautiful birds. Thanks to Sara for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Just scroll down the page to find the information on the labyrinth. I haven't walked it yet, but I look forward to doing that soon. I did spend some time on the bluffs of the Lighthouse a few days ago, sitting socially distant from whale experts, Scott and Tree Mercer. We spotted two groups of Gray Whales, migrating southward. The Mercers are seeing large numbers of migrating whales this week.

It's rainy here today, with much more coming in on Tuesday. Bring it, Mother Nature!

Gulls can be seen surfing the air above big waves. Grace O'Malley photographed a magnificent wave, with several gulls enjoying the action.

You can almost hear the sound of this wave breaking! And perhaps a few "yahoos!" from the surfing gulls.

Thanks to Grace for allowing me to share her photo with you here. To see much more of Grace's nature photography,  here is the link to her website: https://graceomalleyphotography.com/

Much cooler today, with clouds beginning to arrive. Rain is in our forecast! With the overhead clouds, tonight's sunset could be amazing.
