Tamir Scheinok was overlooking the Gualala River when he saw this big Bald Eagle lift off. Her talons are scraping the surface of the water.

I believe this is the female Gualala Bald eagle as she has some dark feathers on her head. Most mature Bald Eagles are completely white-headed, as is her mate.
