Margaret Lindgren, owner of Unbeaten Path Tours, was on a tour at Salt Point State Park, one of my favorite parks. Look at the beautiful waterfall she found near the south end of the park.

She found several creeks too.

Winter is a wonderful time to be on the Mendonoma Coast.

I can personally vouch for her tours - I learned a lot from her while having a fun hike.

Rain coming back tomorrow. The waterfalls will be pumped up, for sure!

There is a beautiful waterfall at Stengel Beach, which you can reach using the public access trail on The Sea Ranch. Allen Vinson recently photographed it.

Our sunny days, as seen in Allen's photo, look to be over, as cold and cloudy weather has arrived. And more rain is headed our way too.

Mel Smith took visiting family members to the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands. He hoped to be able to show them the waterfall, but it is still falling into a crack in the bluff. Nonetheless, this spot is perfect for a photo with the Lighthouse in the distance.

Perhaps with all the rain in our forecast the waterfall will again cascade off the bluff. This is what it looks like when it does - beautiful, don't you think? I took this photo a few years ago.

The Mendonoma Coast received a good amount of rain this past winter. At our house we've received over fifty inches, a good drenching. All that rain brought the many seasonal creeks to life. Craig Tooley photographed one recently.

Some creeks, like this one, flow gently over a sandy beach to reach the Pacific Ocean. Others throw themselves over bluffs in their journey to the ocean, creating beautiful waterfalls. If the sun hits the waterfall just right, a rainbow appears, as it did when Allen Vinson got this photo at Black Point Beach on The Sea Ranch.

Craig Tooley titled this photo "A rare sighting." Thankfully, this year seasonal creeks are full, and beautiful cascades such as this one are not hard to find.
