I hear the calls of Wilson's Warblers most days in the forest at Rick's and my place in Anchor Bay. They are beautiful birds, with their vibrant yellow color. Craig Tooley got this photo recently of a male - the black cap on top of his head is definitive.

You can see he is singing! To hear the calls of this warbler, here is a link to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Wilsons_Warbler/sounds

Thanks to Craig for allowing me to share his photo with  you here. To see much more of Craig's nature photography, here is the link to his website: http://www.ruffimage.com

Foggy this morning near the coast, but warm away from the ocean.

Jon Shiu photographed a Chestnut-backed Chickadee singing, very possibly for a mate. Male birds also sing to establish their territories. But this is Spring so I'm going with singing for a mate.

You can here this bird's call at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's website at this link: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Chestnut-backed_Chickadee/sounds

Boy, oh, boy, is it ever windy here today. Sunny with gusts of wind!

Grace O'Malley photographed this Song Sparrow perched on a rock, singing.

We had warm, dry weather for December. Perhaps this sparrow thought it was spring and time to sing for a mate! He will be hunkered down today as we have some much needed rain.

These sparrows have a sweet call, which you can listen to at this site: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Song_Sparrow/sounds
