Gail Jackson noticed this Peregrine Falcon in a tree at Gualala Point Regional Park. The falcon was soaked from the rain.

This falcon doesn't look too happy! Here's a photo of a Peregrine Falcon soaring, taken by Michael Beattie. This Peregrine had much better weather for hunting.

Thanks to Gail and Michael for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

We've had a storm overnight and another one today. We have soared past 26 inches season to date at our place in Anchor Bay. Up ahead for next week? Sunny and mild!

Rick and Teresa Denniston noticed this Peregrine Falcon perched in the snag usually occupied by the two resident Bald Eagles.

Two Peregrines have been seen near Arena Cove recently. We had several successful nest on the Mendonoma coast this year. Tomorrow I will show you a few photos of a Peregrine who had just fledged.

Thanks to Rick for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

It's foggy, no, it's sunny, wait, it's foggy again. That's the weather report on the immediate coast. Warm, though, with very little wind. Rick and I walked at Gualala Point Regional Park late this morning with our rescue golden retriever, Duffy. Put these words to the tune "The Twelve Days of Christmas." This is what we saw.

Three bucks with antlers, Two Brown Pelicans, and an island full of many, many birds.

Gualala Point Island was nearly covered in birds today. Common Murre chicks are getting ready to fledge by leaping off the island into the ocean, following the sound of their fathers' voices. Good luck, little Murre chicks!

Zak Rudy has been fortunate to observe a pair of Peregrine Falcons mate and nest near Timber Cove over the past several years. Zak has seen the male, who he says is waiting for his mate to arrive. The sun was shining brightly on the chest feathers of the world's fastest animal.

Here's another photo Zak took a week or so earlier when the skies were cloudy.

Thanks to Zak for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

Craig Tooley photographed the Peregrine Falcon nest with two chicks. In Craig's first photo, the adult Peregrine has just finished feeding the chicks and is flying away.

Here one of the Peregrine Falcon chicks is exercising his or her wings. It won't be too long before they fledge. These photos were taken over a week ago.

Thanks to Craig for allowing me to share his photos with you here. To see much more of Craig's nature photography, here is the link to his website: www.ruffimage.com

It really cooled off on the coast today...thank goodness!

Tom Eckles looked out his window in Gualala and he saw this beautiful Peregrine Falcon in the distance.

peregrine-falcon-by-tom-ecklesA good place to see a Peregrine is at Gualala Point Regional Park. Peregrine Falcons have been seen there looking for a meal of a tasty Duck.
