Bettye Winters photographed a recent spectacular sunset over Manchester Beach.

Magnificent Sunset at Irish Beach by Bettye Winters (Large)

In the far distance, where the land juts out, is where you would find the beautiful Point Arena Lighthouse.

I love how the pastel colors of the sunset are reflected in the Pacific Ocean. Just lovely...

Thanks to Bettye for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Anne Mary Schaefer noticed a River Otter at Manchester Beach.

The River Otter was harassing two birds that were identified as juvenile Black-crowned Night-herons, something you rarely get to see.

The Night-herons safely flew away.

Manchester Beach is huge - there are five miles of shoreline. It is in Manchester State Park and you can learn more about it at this website: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=437.

Here is another photo of the waves at Manchester Beach, taken by Beth Petit. This is a place where you might find something washed up on the beach from halfway around the world.
