Dennis Latona recently visited the Fort Bragg area and sent in several photos from his visit. The first is Peanut Face, a Western Gray Squirrel.

And here are a couple of masked bandits - Raccoons - out looking for trouble or, more likely, food.

And finally a Striped Skunk drinking from a water dish. If you put out water, you might be amazed at the wildlife that comes to it.

The Point Cabrillo Light Station is fully restored and open to the public. Dennis Latona recently visited it and the surrounding state park. It is located just north of the town of Mendocino. You can learn much more about this special place at this link: www.pointcabrillo.org

Dennis also shared this photo of Noyo Harbor at night. Located at Fort Bragg, this is an active harbor for commercial and sport fishing. There are several great seafood restaurants at the harbor too.

And here are several Does with their yearlings. We are waiting for the first fawn of the spring to be born. Any day!

A Long-tailed Weasel has taken up residence close to one of the rental units at the Point Arena Lighthouse. Dennis Latona was staying there recently and captured these photos.

Weasels are aggressive carnivores. They also have great agility and determination. They look cute, but they are fierce. Rodents are their prey but they will go after many critters, including snakes and birds.
