Carolyn Sharp recently visited Salt Point State Park where she photographed this lovely scene.

Salt Point is one of my favorite parks, with many different hiking trails and wonderful camping.

It's the kind of day to step back from the bluffs, as big waves are hitting the Mendonoma Coast. Richard Hansen is fortunate to live where he can view Castle Rock, one of our many offshore rocks. This is what he photographed this morning.

You can see the mist from the crashing waves is drifting through the air. We have no fog today and it's downright warm.

Thanks to Richard for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

The Pacific Ocean is roaring again today. This morning the ocean looked like corduroy, with big swells spaced evenly apart. Tom Eckles recently photographed the dramatic scene.

You can almost hear the ocean and feel the salt spray by looking at Tom's photo.

Big swells create big crashing waves. The Pacific Ocean today is proud and loud! Margaret Lindgren and her husband found a spot at Salt Point State Park close enough to feel the salt spray but far enough back to be safe.

The power of the ocean can make you feel great exhilaration and joy!

Thanks to Margaret for allowing me to share her photos with you. To see Margaret's website of various hiking experiences here on the Mendonoma Coast, here is her website: www.unbeatenpath.weebly.com

Carolyn André took a series of photos of the crashing waves and big surf we experienced here on the Mendonoma Coast yesterday, Thanksgiving Day. The booming waves sent mist into the air, which then floated over Highway 1.

I took the photo below just north of Bodega Bay yesterday afternoon. It was quite a show for our ride back home, after celebrating Thanksgiving a day early with family.

When the Pacific Ocean is this rough you can hear it several miles away. It's best to keep your distance, that's for sure.

Thanks to Carolyn for allowing me to share her photos with you here.
