Sierran treefrogs are a fun sighting. These tiny, usually green, treefrogs can appear in the most unlikely places. Adrian Bennett found one peeking out of the entrance hole of her birdhouse.

These frogs can change their color to match their environment. Here is a photo by Carolyn Andre of one that changed from green to brown to blend in with her barbecue.

But I think it is beyond this treefrog's capability to change to the pinks and blues of Adrian's birdhouse. And, as we know, it's good to be green!

Thanks to Adrian and Carolyn for allowing me to share their photos with you here. We are having a breezy, warm day on the coast today, with not a cloud in sight.

Carolyn Andre captured a photo of the Pacific Ocean flowing over the sandbar of the Gualala River.

It is beautiful to see, don't you agree? Carolyn also photographed a dramatic sunset between storms.

Carolyn André spotted what she deemed a male Great Blue Heron and a female Great Egret. I'll let Carolyn tell the story.  “So they start off like this, couldn’t be bothered to even look at each other. He’s busy looking the other way, but they keep turning to look at each other.

“Then she gets mad and starts walking his way – quickly.

"So he turns around and starts walking towards her. Then she stops, so he stops. And they’re still out there ignoring each other.”

The two species of birds usually avoid each other in order not to compete for food.

Thanks to Carolyn for a fun story, and for allowing me to share her photos with you here.

Carolyn André and Barry Richman were honored with a visit from a Bobcat. Carolyn got several photos of the handsome animal.

The interesting markings of a Bobcat by Carolyn André

I wondered if Bobcat's were all marked alike and discovered each one is unique! Just like a human's fingerprints, each Bobcat has different markings.

Bobcats are named because of their short "bobbed" tails. One thing they all have in common after the age of eight weeks is the white patch on the back of their ears.

The Bobcat headed off to hunt for its favorite meal - gophers.
