There was a huge fog bank and monsoonal clouds overhead. It made for a spectacular sunset. Paul Kozal took this panoramic photo of the event.

Jon Loveless caught some of the beauty too, a little later in the sunset.

Today is very warm on the coast. The cooling fog has pulled way back. Those who love warm weather, and I'm not among them, are very happy today!

Thanks to Paul and Jon for allowing me to share their photos with you here. To see much more of Paul's nature photography, here is the link to his website: http://www.paulkozal.com/ and the website for his gallery in Gualala is: http://studio391.net/

The remnants of a hurricane traveled up the Mendonoma Coast. Late in the evening we had thunder and lightning, plus a smattering of rain. Kitty Wolfe captured this scene from her home in Manchester.

Doesn't it relax you just to see it?

We have a big holiday weekend coming up. I am told most places to stay are booked up. If you are on the coast, Craig Tooley and I will be at the Four-Eyed Frog Bookstore, http://www.foureyedfrog.com/,  Saturday May 23, from 2 to 4 pm signing our book, Mendonoma Sightings Throughout The Year. Stop by and say hello!

Tax day, April 15, can be a very stressful day. So to have a lovely sunset is a balm to the soul. Paul Brewer captured it.

There were two contrails lit up by the setting sun. And the surf was high, creating a dramatic picture.

There are some sunsets that just have to be shared. Here is one taken by Richard Kuehn.
