The color in the sky was truly remarkable last night. The sky almost appeared to be on fire. This photo was taken from our front deck in Anchor Bay and not cropped or changed in any way. A panoramic camera would give you the full impact of this beautiful sunset but this photo does show you a great deal of the beauty which evolved in front of our eyes.

Paul Brewer was photographing the sunset, too, from his perspective in Gualala, a few miles south of me.

A treat for the senses!

Thanks to Paul for allowing me to share his photos with you here. To see much more of Paul's nature photography, here is his website: http://www.capturingnatureswonders.com/

When the sunrise in the east is reflected in clouds and the ocean, it can be amazing. That's what happened this morning. It doesn't last long, just a few minutes. Here's a photo taken from our deck in Anchor Bay. Notice that the ocean is glowing pink!

Richard Hansen took this one from his home in Gualala, which overlooks Castle Rock.

And Rich Kuehn photographed this morning's sunrise from his home on The Sea Ranch.

What a beautiful sunrise, a gift from Mother Nature! Thanks to Richard and Rich for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

Friday's sunset was so beautiful. It evolved over a period of a half hour. Here is a photo I took just after the sun disappeared from view.

This photo was taken from our deck in Anchor Bay.

A low pressure system has swept away the fog and brought beautiful clouds. This morning the sunrise was amazing and Drew Fagan captured it with his camera.

And last night's sunset was beautiful too. I took this photo from our deck in Anchor Bay.

Our clear, warm weather has left us for a day or two as the fog rolled in this morning. Sometimes fog can give you a chance for a beautiful sunset photo, like Nan Brichetto took from a deck in Anchor Bay.

October sunsets are exquisite - one of the privileges of living on or visiting the Mendonoma Coast.

Thanks to Nan for allowing me to share her photo with you here.
