Eric Zetterholm noticed a bird sitting on the back of a Black-tailed Deer, a Doe. The bird was identified as a female Cowbird.
This is something you just don't see! A hitchhiking Cowbird...amazing.

Foggy yet mild on the Mendonoma Coast today.
The other day I showed you a photo of a Coast Lily, which bloomed several weeks ago. Today you will see a group of Leopard Lilies blooming inside a hydrangea bush. Pat Maxwell has this beautiful sight in her garden.

It's cool on the Mendonoma Coast today, with clouds drifting up from the south.
Kalynn Oleson was enjoying her lavender bush, which was full of beautiful flowers. Then she looked out a day later and found it barren of flowers. The culprits were looking back at her, she said.

Foggy morning with sunshine this afternoon - a summertime pattern!
Gualala Point Regional Park is at the northernmost corner of the Sonoma coast. It's a true gem, with a beautiful beach, the Gualala River alongside, meadows and bluffs. Gaily Jackson visited and took these photos. First she found a fledgling American Robin. The young bird might have taken its first flight and then landed on the ground.
And this Great Blue Heron, so beautiful in the air.
Then she witnessed five Great Blue Herons and a Great Egret along the Gualala River. You can see the town of Gualala behind them.
