It's the funniest thing! Holly McCarroll-Baker noticed this big adult Western Toad apparently gazing through a window. It looks rather relaxed while doing so.

I was astonished at this morning's sunrise. The sky was tinted in mauves and pinks, and the Pacific Ocean appeared purple. I needed to change the lens on my camera to get a photo, but by the time I did so the unusual colors were gone. Not to fear - Richard Hansen to the rescue.

A beautiful new 75 acre parcel has been acquired by the Mendocino Land Trust. It is located south of Point Arena on the west side of Highway One. It isn't yet opened to the public but will be soon. Peter Reimuller recently explored the land and took these photos.

Every October big Bucks wander onto the Mendonoma Coast looking for Does. Sometimes Bucks will fight each other with their antlers over the females. The healthiest, strongest male prevails, thus ensuring his genes will be perpetuated. Robert Scarola watched a beautiful Buck herding his Does all day.
