The full moon shone so brightly on Christmas. The Point Arena Lighthouse had a full moon tour the night before and Iliana Sanchez captured the moment. There won’t be another December 25th full moon until 2034.

Jan Jewell watched a recent sunrise where the clouds did their best to hide the sun. But the sun came shining through.
We are having a wait-five-minutes kind of day, with sunshine quickly followed by showers. The Pacific Ocean is roaring! It's a fun and exciting weather day here on the Mendonoma Coast.

Jayne Zeldin, the owner of ARFF Feed and Pet Supplies, heard this little owl hit a window. As it recovered outside her store, Jayne photographed it.
Jayne said is rested there for a while, and then flew off, so we hope it was uninjured. Northern Pygmy Owls are often seen in the daytime, as they hunt small birds. Rick and I had one perch near our birdfeeder one day. Here it is looking my way.
And then it turned its head, showing the false eye spots in the back.

It seems like each sunset is different from the last.
We are waiting for a series of four storms set to come in. It's already blustery, and the surface waters of the Pacific Ocean are flowing south to north - all indications of stormy weather. After four years of drought, we say "Bring it on!"
May 2016 be filled with wonderful nature sightings!
