Sunny, our golden retriever, doesn't mind the flooded path! Quinliven Creek was running fast and furious, as you will see below.
Lots of rain has pumped up our seasonal creeks, including the one that traverses our property in Anchor Bay. It's so exhilarating to walk alongside, breathing in the freshness and appreciating all the wonderful rain we are getting. Here is a short video of a part of the stream.
More rain for tomorrow, Sunday. Then we have a chance to dry out.
When fresh up, Western Trilliums are white. As they age they turn pink and then purple. Craig Tooley photographed one as it changed to pink.
Craig mentioned that it looked like it had been hand-painted.
A wet storm hit the Mendonoma Coast in the wee hours of the morning, bringing two inches of rain at our place in Anchor Bay. There are several more storms to come, for which we are very grateful.

We are unlikely to see the sunset tonight as a gentle storm has settled over the coast.

David McFarland noticed these unusual clouds several weeks ago. They are called High Sheets, or alto stratus clouds.
Today we have strong winds, and white puffy clouds (unscientific description!) scurrying across the sky. In the past six days we have had seven inches of rain at our place in Anchor Bay. And lots more coming our way. Goodbye drought - don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Glenn and Kalynn Funk noticed this cute little owl in an owl nesting box they put up in their Anchor Bay property some years ago. Finally, they have attracted a Western Screech-Owl. Craig Tooley went over and captured a photo of the little owl.
We hope this owl will attract a mate and nest in the Funk's box. What fun that would be!
