Jinx McCombs and Paul Nordstrand have a motion detector camera at their property near Point Arena that captures some wonderful wildlife sightings. Recently they were amazed to see this photo.

Another sparkling clear day on the Mendonoma Coast.
What a beautiful sight, this magnificent Sun Halo. Shari Goforth-Eby photographed in on Nov. 18th.
Here is the definition of a Sun Halo: "A Sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22° angle, creating a circular halo around the Sun."
Sun Halos are often predictors of rain, and sure enough, we had rain the next day.

Cool, sunny weather today, with enough breeze to knock leaves out of our Dogwood tree.
It's so wonderful to see Sea Stars in abundance, recovering from the wasting disease. Roxanne Holmes found a baby Star, a juvenile Bat Sea Star, Patiria miniata.
Amy Ruegg went to Walk On Beach at low tide recently and she found this glorious group of Ochre Sea Stars, Pisaster ochraceus.

Shirley was walking the bluff trail at The Sea Ranch when she saw this sight.
The fence is perfectly reflected on the trail. You can see some white water on the right, along with the blue water. A beautiful day on the trail!

We received a little over four inches of rain from the two storms. What a relief and a blessing. After morning showers, the sun reappeared, with white clouds dancing across the sky.
I never take seeing a rainbow for granted. They bring delight every time. Irene and Rolf Fandrey photographed this one in Anchor Bay with a Common Raven flying by.

Today, after a pretty darn big rainstorm, we have sunny, mild weather. More rain for tomorrow. Bring it on, Mother Nature!
