Adrian Bennett had a Doe with her newborn fawn visit over the past weekend. Yes, the first fawns are being born.

Adrian Bennett photograph a young Buck growing his new antlers. She wrote, “This guy so cute. He lost his very tiny antlers last fall and is now growing new ones. He comes right up to the window and sometimes Peanuts, the cat, is just sitting inside staring at him and he is staring at Peanuts.”

Thanks to Adrian for allowing me to share her photos with you here.

Lots of clouds today with occasional showers, and it's in the 50's. brrr!

Michael Reinhart spotted this young Buck, a Black-tailed Deer, looking at him. It sure looks like the Buck is smiling!

Thanks to Mike for his fun photo and for allowing me to share it here with you.

We had clouds this morning, but they have disappeared, leaving behind sunny skies with strong breezes. And it's a chilly breeze! Wildflowers are amazing now. But watch out for ticks. A friend told me she picked eight of them off of her after a walk through grasses at Manchester State Park this morning. And I found one on me after a hike today. Yikes!

Connie King captured this moment of peace, a young Buck asleep in the grass.

This young buck is living lightly on the land at The Sea Ranch. Thanks to Connie for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Several people reported seeing this Buck and Annie Beckett got a photo.

We don't know how it was injured. It could have gotten caught in a gopher trap or it could have been hit by a car. We do know it survived this injury.

Annie wrote, "I’ve never seen anything like this! Imagine the healing power of this Buck to be able to heal on its own, without antiseptic, antibiotic, pain killers, after an injury that took off hoof and leg below the hock. Astonishing!"

I thank Annie for allowing me to share her photo with you here. So far the young Buck is doing fine on The Sea Ranch despite his injury.

Bucks have been reappearing on the Mendonoma Coast and they have one thing on their minds. Bucks have been seen locking antlers over a particularly attractive Doe. It's the time of year to give these big Bucks a wide berth.

Recently Ben Angwin photographed a young Buck in the grasses at Gualala Point Regional Park.

Gualala Point Rergional Park is a favorite of mine. Rick and I enjoy taking our golden retriever, Huckleberry, there for a walk. Below is a photo I took from the bluff trail on Thursday. Beautiful, wouldn't you agree?

Thanks to Ben Angwin for allowing me to share his photo with you here.
