Sunbeams through the trees can be a work of art, a work of art by Mother Nature. Shirley Mitchell photographed this beautiful sight.

It's a beautiful Spring day on the Mendonoma Coast today. No clouds, a slight breeze and temps in the high sixties. Nice!

The Pacific Ocean has been loud and mighty lately. Huge waves have crashed against sandy beaches and rocky cliffs. Janet Burch was out on the bluffs at The Sea Ranch when she saw this awesome sight.

Grace O'Malley photographed these waves called Rooster Tails off of Timber Cove.

And Bob Rutemoeller witnessed this roiled-up ocean off the Gualala Bluff Trail.

Shirley Mitchell photographed the action off of Gualala Point.

Such power and such beauty - we need to respect the Pacific Ocean and stay well back when she is flexing her awesome power.

Thanks to Janet, Grace, Bob and Shirley for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

Today it is raining - hooray! A half-inch so far but the bulk of the storm is due in a bit later.

Shirley was walking the bluff trail at The Sea Ranch when she saw this sight.

The fence is perfectly reflected on the trail. You can see some white water on the right, along with the blue water. A beautiful day on the trail!

We received a little over four inches of rain from the two storms. What a relief and a blessing. After morning showers, the sun reappeared, with white clouds dancing across the sky.

Shirley Mitchell photographed the beautiful scene at Black Point Beach on The Sea Ranch. A sea of Goldfields on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

In this photo Shirley photographed some pink Butter 'n' Eggs, aka Johnny Tuck, with the GoldfieldsWe had a nice rain event yesterday, Thursday, and we have another predicted for Saturday. The late rains are sure to replenish the wildflowers, allowing them to bloom longer.

On Tuesday, Craig Tooley and Shirley Mitchell, each took walks before more rain arrived. They each found Calypso Orchids, Calypso bulbosa, up. They are quite small, so it feels like you've found treasure if you spot them. Craig found a particularly large group of these orchids.

Each Calypso Orchid has one leaf which lays flat on the forest floor. Shirley managed to get a nice closeup of one. Since they are so tiny, they are hard to photograph, but Shirley manged it!

These native wildflowers grow in undisturbed forests. They are also called Fairy Slippers or Venus's slipper. Consider yourself lucky if you come across one or more of these beauties while on a forest walk.

We had a lot of rain overnight and it's showering today. We went over 50 inches season to date at our place in Anchor Bay, for which we are thankful!
