David Allen wrote, "Something special about a harvest moon... it was a stark reality hearing the coyotes howling off in the distance, chatting no doubt, about which morsel was next on the menu. So incredibly calm, but also, a feeling of being in the eye of the storm! Mother Nature rules!"

Dave's photo shows the iconic Sea Ranch barn, the Sea Range sheep and goats, a lone cloud and the beautiful full moon. Happy Autumn!

Dave has also been training his camera on cannabis plants, showing their beauty. You can see Dave's work at his website: http://www.calibrothers.com/

The big Harvest Moon was fun to see. Paul Brewer went out early in the morning to try to get a photo of it setting into the ocean. There was only one problem - a big fog bank. So Paul photographed the moon just before it disappeared into the fog. I love how the moonlight is shining on the ocean.

Many Mendonoma residents went to the ridge to view the eclipse of the moon, Rick and me included. It was wonderful to see the red moon rising in the eastern sky. Paul Kozal captured this evocative photo of the event.

Harvest moon, Blood moon, Eclipse by Paul Kozal

It was quite a spectacle with the moon being full. It was a Super Moon because the moon is closest to earth right now. It was a Harvest Moon because it was the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. And it was also a Blood Moon - quite an event!
