With much of the world sheltering in place, Mother Earth has a chance to recover a bit from our actions. What will we learn from this coronavirus? Will we move forward, change our ways, keeping our Mother's health in the forefront? Or will we go back to business as usual? I vote for the former!

Budd Jones took this photo of the setting sun. A friend of Budd's told him the sunbeam looked like the hand of God reaching out to us.

Thanks to Budd for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Happy Earth Day!

As our parks and trails to beaches are closed off due to the coronavirus, I thought today I'd show you one of my favorite photos of Hearn Gulch. Paul Brewer is the talented photographer who captured magic that day.

Paul photographed the setting sun through the sea tunnel, and the blow hole in beautiful action on the right side. When this crisis is over, perhaps you will visit this special spot, brought to us by the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy. To learn more about Hearn Gulch and other places RCLC has and is bringing to us, here is their website: http://www.rc-lc.org/

It's been raining with more to come - hooray!

Spring doesn't know...

It doesn't happen very often. Usually we see rainbows in the morning out over the ocean, but when conditions are perfect, we get a rainbow in the late afternoon. Jan Jewell photographed part of Sunday's double rainbow.

and-the-view-to-the-west-the-sunset-10-16-16-by-jan-jewellJust beautiful! The soaking rain we received over the weekend was very welcome. We received 3.65 inches at our house in Anchor Bay, a wonderful early autumn gift.

The fishermen are out plying the waters off the Mendonoma Coast. The season for Dungeness Crab is now open. Deliciousness is headed our way.

The sight of a fishing boat against the setting sun is a beautiful one. Rob Diefenbach photographed such an event.

This was the view earlier in the day, also photographed by Rob. There is a kayaker in the forefront with a big bird overhead.

Thanks to Rob for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

The Mendonoma Coast is just starting to dry out from the series of storms that hit us late last week. We received nearly ten inches at our home in Anchor Bay! Tom Eckles photographed storm clouds mixed with the setting sun - just spectacular.
