Drew Fagan recently photographed this cloud that looks like a seahorse. Or the Loch Ness monster. Or a dragon. You choose!

Richard Hansen once photographed a shark cloud.

I once photographed a rocket cloud. Fun stuff!

We are having an absolutely beautiful day on the coast today. No wind, warm temps, chamber of commerce type weather. But rain returns next week.

Thanks to Drew and Richard for allowing me to share their fun photos with you here.

Richard Hansen photographed Castle Rock, which is found on the north end of Gualala. A submerged rock in front of it causes some major white water!

Here is one of my favorite photos taken by Richard a few years ago. The wave looks like a monster. Is the monster going to hug Castle Rock? Or???

This first full day of winter is cold and cloudy here on the Mendonoma Coast. We have some rain coming in.

Thanks to Richard for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

Monday, November 26th, was filled with beauty. First, the incredible sunrise. The first photo is by Barbara Spillane.

The second photo was taken by me in Anchor Bay, just as the Pacific Ocean glowed purple.

Colorful sunrises don't last very long; their beauty is fleeting. You can't say that for sunsets though. They are the gift that keeps on giving. Tricia Schuster took this first photo at The Sea Ranch - isn't it an amazing sky?

Allen Vinson must have had a similar vantage point, but his was taken earlier when the clouds glowed pink. The ocean looks very calm.

Richard Hansen captured this sight from Gualala.

And lastly, Patti Lopez framed her sunset photo with a big tree, photographed north of Gualala.

Thanks to all who allowed me to share their photos with you here.

We had a nice, juicy storm overnight, and today is filled with showers. Our seasonal creek came to life, which means waterfalls on the Mendonoma coast!

Richard Hansen is the lucky person to live in Gualala and overlook Castle Rock. He has photographed various waves hitting a submerged rock in front of Castle Rock, which creates some interesting sightings. He swears this wave was ready to hug the distinctive rock.

One of my favorite photos by Richard of waves and Castle Rock is this one, taken a few years ago. It looks like a big monster is planning on hugging the rock.

Lovely sunny weather today. Lots of birds are singing their mating songs. It's a great time to be on the Mendonoma Coast.

Richard Hansen noticed this dark cloud from his Gualala home, and saw that it looked like a shark with its mouth open - a hungry shark.

And the cloud held the shape as it moved slowly to the south.

Two fun photos on a sun-splashed Sunday, and I thank Richard for allowing me to share them with you here.

We are enjoying the sun today, and temps in the mid-60's. But rain is coming!
