Fred Stanin hit the Gray Fox jackpot. A Gray Fox mother with her little kits have been seen near his home. Fred wrote, “This week we have had the pleasure of watching a new family of foxes at our home in Sea Ranch." Fred’s photo shows the mother nursing her rambunctious kits; paws can be seen akimbo.

Fred wrote further, "Then the mom lays on top of the fence while the kids have their fun.”

Life is good when you get to watch cute fox kits! Thanks to Fred for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

It's overcast today, with the sun trying to break free. Breezy too.

Walter Stillman spotted a family of Gray Foxes in the Point Arena area. He photographed three of the cute kits with their mother.

Walt said he also saw the father standing guard at a distance. It looks like two of the little kits are trying to nurse in this photo below.

I wrote a feature for the Press Democrat on gray foxes which appeared June 14. If you'd like to read it - and see Craig Tooley's great fox kit photos - here is the link: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/lifestyle/8427192-181/brace-yourself-for-cuteness-its

Gray foxes have had their kits, and the kits are growing up. They love to play with each other and they are very cute to see. Grace O'Malley has had two healthy-looking kits coming to her place near Timber Cove for water.

Robert and Nancy Scarola were visited by a Gray Fox family. The mother went off to hunt for a gopher and left her three kits on a flat rock to wait for her.

She returned with a gopher in her mouth and the three kits were then free to play in the Scarola's garden. A photo of what happened next will be in Thursday's edition of the Independent Coast Observer. It shows why Gray Foxes are also called Tree Foxes!
