Grace O'Malley noticed this Doe standing quietly in the grasses, looking at her.

What a beautiful sight, with the Pacific Ocean in the background!

This is the time of year for the rut - the mating season - of the Black-tailed Deer. Bucks have been seen chasing Does, so the game is afoot!

Thanks to Grace for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

There is a big fog bank at the immediate coast. I can see fog drifting up Fish Rock canyon at times. The temps are in the low 60's today with no wind. Happy Autumn day to you!

Craig Tooley watched these two Deer, a Doe and her yearling, walking over rocks at low tide on April 1st. Craig joked that they might be abalone picking, and that the mother Deer might be named "Jane Doe."

April 1st is usually the opening of Abalone season, but this year the season doesn't open until May 1st.

We have a beautiful day after rain in the early hours. We have had an amazing 73+ inches of rain so far this season.

Thanks to Craig for allowing me to share his photo with you here. To see much more of Craig's nature photography, here is the link to his website: www.ruffimage.com

We share the coast with Black-tailed Deer. They love to eat pretty much anything that grows, even when it is "suppose" to be deer resistant. Betty Bailey found this lovely Doe with a mouthful of her agapanthus.

Nancy Padgett enjoys the wildlife that comes to the meadows near her home on The Sea Ranch. Her two cats, Oscar and Emily, often let her know when something of interest is outside. Emily noticed this Buck on the bluffs at dusk.

Here is Oscar on guard duty. You will see a family of Deer under the tree.

Here's a Doe with her two Fawns. Nancy titled this photo, "Are you lookin' at me?!"

And Nancy thinks the Doe was saying, "Don't come any closer."

Thanks to Nancy, Emily and Oscar for sharing their photos/sightings with us here.
