The Sea Ranch has a small army of sheep and goats that munch down the grasses, helping to keep the fire danger low. Recently little lambs have appeared, the essence of cuteness. Betty Bailey recently photographed one on top of what she thought was a rock. The rock turned out to be the lamb's mother!

Here's a cute photo Allen Vinson took several years ago of two lambs enjoying the sun.

The Sea Ranch Sheep even have their own website - https://www.thesearanchsheep.com/

You can find out where the flock is on any given day. Thanks to Betty and Allen for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

Cool and foggy this morning has given way to sunny and mild.

Betty Bailey captured a moment of serenity on The Sea Ranch - a Great Blue Heron in the foreground and a Great Egret in the back. They eat fish but also mice and other small rodents. Perhaps that is what they were looking for in that meadow. Thanks to Betty for allowing me to share her photo.

Sometimes a big wave will hit a group of Harbor Seals and it's fun to watch them try and hold onto their places. Betty Bailey took a photo right when a wave hit and was kind enough to allow me to share it here.

Harbor Seals are year-round residents of the nearshore waters of the Mendonoma Coast. They are curious animals and often lift their heads out of the water to look around. If Harbor Seals thrive it's an indication that their entire ecosystem is doing well as they feed at the top of the food chain. We are lucky to have pristine waters off our beautiful coast.
